Source rating
Every factual claim on Komodo Guide is sourced from at least one of these tiers:
- Tier 1 — Peer-reviewed: Articles indexed by CrossRef, PubMed, Scopus, or Web of Science. DOI cited.
- Tier 2 — Authoritative institutions: IUCN, UNESCO, CITES, Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Balai Taman Nasional Komodo (BTNK), recognized natural history museums.
- Tier 3 — Established journalism: BBC, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Reuters, Tempo, Kompas, Detik, ANTARA.
- Tier 4 — Primary government records: Indonesian Permenhut/Permenparekraf, BPOLBF announcements, BAPPEDA census reports.
Tier 1 sources are preferred. Where Tier 1 is unavailable, Tier 2 is used. Tiers 3 and 4 may supplement but cannot be the sole source for a contested claim.

- Editor-in-chief reviews for tone, NPOV, and clarity.

- Audits of sister-brand operators require an independent reviewer.
- Editorial team has no equity / performance bonuses tied to commercial brand performance.
- Sister-brand profiles carry per-page affiliation disclosure asides.

Komodo Guide uses generative-AI tooling for:
- First-pass drafting (always human-edited before publishing)
- Bilingual translation suggestions (always human-reviewed by Indonesian-language editor)

No published content is solely AI-generated. Every editorial article passes through human review before publication.
